livin’ the Vida…groundhog day

As of late, my days have been filled with Tumble Leaf and Daniel Tiger reruns. Circle Time, and Wheels On The Bus videos on YouTube. Not to brag but I can recite episodes of Tumble Leaf and Daniel Tiger by heart. Even after our cute spawn is tucked snug as a bug in bed, Mama and Dada will randomly start humming the above-mentioned shows theme songs.

Jealous, my children-free friends?! Oh, I know…

Random storytime:

So we live in a condo, a great freakin’ condo I might add, the only thing our place lacks is a backyard. Small detail. ;) Alas, you know it’s officially time to start looking for a house with a backyard when you’re on the daily family walk; strolling on the street with all the houses and…well this conversation happens

son: “I wish we had a house!”

husband: “Believe me, kid, mama, and dada are on the same boat”

son: “NO DAIYA (that’s what Jude calls dada), not a boat. A HOUSE!”

He’s three (and very literal like Drax from Guardians of the Galaxy). haha. Cute kid…

On a side note, walks have become my favorite thing to do in quarantine life. :)

A couple of days ago (another random story) I accidentally left Jude’s plastic bin of crayons outside on our patio and when I went to bring them in that evening they had melted into a puddle of color. It was very pretty but such a bummer because I had just bought him some new colors. Thank goodness for aunties (who just happened to be on a zoom call when this discovery was made) who are sending replacement crayons STAT! #mommafail #auntiestotherescue

**I have moments of pure desperation. I feel like I never get a moment to myself. I get tired of hearing “mama”. The kitchen can NOT stay clean for more than five minutes. I’m gaining weight! UGH

BUT

I also have moments of pure bliss. Jude will give me hugs and kisses for NO reason. We play together and he cracks up when I make his toys “talk”. When he picks flowers for me!! Our impromptu “band” practice (hubby on guitar or ukelele, momma on her djembe, and kiddo on his trumpet). When the hubs and I get a few hours together, sitting on the couch and watching a show, speaking of husband our quarantine sex has been LIT lately! TMI?! Sorry, NOT sorry. xo

I’m discovering it’s okay to be both sometimes annoyed with your family & able to appreciate the (more) time I now have with them.**
